[00:24:32] Speaker D: If you will allow me to continue. Furthermore, she has been going to this man's room. [00:24:37] Speaker E: You know that isn't true. I thought we sent him back this afternoon. The matter is closed now. [00:24:41] Speaker D: You're satisfied with her words? [00:24:42] Speaker E: Of course I am. [00:24:45] Speaker D: Unfortunately, I am not. Will you come in now, please? [00:25:17] Speaker E: Ms. Van Bretton gave the services of our agency September 1st of this year to follow Mrs. Van Brett and report your begging. [00:25:26] Speaker F: Will you please sit down? Your report, Mr. Lambert. [00:25:32] Speaker E: Again following her. September 3rd, she met Dr. John Lucas, this man here in the park near the 72nd street entrance. For what is he there? Quietly, October 18, she met him again. Finally, this afternoon, she entered apartment 106, located at 151 Central Park west, occupied by the said Dr. Lucas. She remained there an hour. There was no third party present. I have three affidavits here from people in the department house. But you have no actual proof, no legal proof. No, sir. [00:26:06] Speaker D: I am not interested in the legality of it. I nearly can't show it. The kind of woman that you married. If she died to him, she'll deceive him. That's a good. [00:26:17] Speaker E: My God, Rip, you've known me a good many years. You know That I wouldn't do anything to hurt you. You know that Ann wouldn't either. I'd like to speak to you alone. [00:26:28] Speaker F: No, Rip. He's gone too far for that. [00:26:30] Speaker E: I want Victoria to hear all I have to say. [00:26:33] Speaker F: But first I want to ask you. [00:26:35] Speaker E: Do you believe that John and I have deceived her? Anne, I can't believe it, but I. [00:26:39] Speaker C: Yes. I lied this afternoon. [00:26:40] Speaker E: I'm not skipping it. [00:26:41] Speaker C: I lied. [00:26:41] Speaker F: I was frightened. [00:26:42] Speaker E: Anne, you don't have. [00:26:43] Speaker F: Yes, I do. [00:26:44] Speaker E: The day you told her you were. [00:26:45] Speaker C: Going to marry me, she began a campaign against me. [00:26:47] Speaker E: She was determined to break down our love. [00:26:50] Speaker C: That's why I went to see John. [00:26:51] Speaker E: I had to talk to somebody to see if there wasn't some way to. [00:26:53] Speaker C: Get you out of this terrible house. [00:26:56] Speaker D: It's true. [00:37:51] Speaker D: Very well, you can go. [00:37:55] Speaker C: I'm not stopping you. Don't let me go. [00:38:01] Speaker E: Just a moment. [00:38:02] Speaker F: Caroline. [00:38:03] Speaker C: Easy. Sake. [00:38:04] Speaker E: Drift. Forgot the pearls. [00:38:06] Speaker D: Surely you wouldn't like Anne to leave without the pearls. We can get them some other time. Well, I'd like her to have them now. We'll go in together. [00:38:16] Speaker C: What is she up to? Oh. [00:38:25] Speaker B: Girl, what is going on? This broad here was a she. A piece of work straight from hell. [00:38:54] Speaker D: No. [00:38:55] Speaker E: Any and all of the estate, real and personal. [00:39:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:39:21] Speaker F: Very well. [00:39:22] Speaker E: I shall prefer charges against you this morning. You wouldn't dare. Assault with murderous intent is a criminal offense. [00:39:36] Speaker B: Sandy got her hair fixed like it's two horns. You see how they have her hair fixed? Her hair looks like two horns. Yes, two devil horns. Like malefic. Like maleficent. I told you. [00:39:58] Speaker E: Just horrible. [00:40:00] Speaker B: But they have people like this in real life. Just master manipulators. Just hateful, player, hater, bitter, crazy how. [00:40:10] Speaker C: Horrifying I mean, she was. Came this close to suffocating the DAs. Like buried alive. [00:40:17] Speaker B: Buried alive, yeah. [00:40:33] Speaker C: She's still thinking about those pearls. Well, they'll go real good with your prison outfit. Oh. Oh, that's what I call just dessert. Hey, you're asking for it. [00:41:29] Speaker B: Woo, man. What a ride. What a ride. [00:41:36] Speaker C: Wow. That was a ride. Oh my God. That was fun. That was a ton of fun. [00:41:43] Speaker B: That was. Yeah, it was based off of two actual. Actually two Spencer sisters. Spencer sisters back in those days, in the 30s, who lived on Fifth Avenue. And I don't know if they had that type of situation going on, but the writers of the play came up, you know, based the characters off of that. Well, guys, we hope you enjoyed Mary. I said Mary Norris earlier. It was Mary Morris, I think I screwed up her name. I'm sorry, but Mary Morris Ellen Venerable, I believe, and Ann de Vere, who is very young right there. But she's been in a number of great movies. Very underrated actress, in my opinion. So, yeah, check out 1934's Double Door. And this is our Christmas gift to them. Right, Georgia? [00:42:36] Speaker C: That's right. Merry Christmas, listeners. [00:42:39] Speaker B: Yes, Merry Christmas from our family to yours. And we hope you have a wonderful Christmas. And we look forward to another exciting episode of How Betty Davis Saved My Life. I'm Moya. [00:42:54] Speaker C: And I'm Georgia. [00:42:56] Speaker B: And you keep looking at those Hollywood movies and you keep on learning those life lessons, and we will see you next time. We didn't we didn't queue up any Christmas music this time, Georgia.
