[00:00:00] I was like, man, yes. [00:00:03] But I could not remember. And I wish I'd record him. Cause recorded Norman. Cause he just really gave a good. [00:00:10] Just gave her her flowers, you know, about how he. Cause that's what he said. That's how I was. He was drawn to our channel, how Bette Davis saved my life because he felt that Betty had saved his life. And, you know, so to speak, with the movies and how the movies. And she spoke to him as an actress. And then George and I was saying, I think we love her so much as other actors that we love, like Joan. And shout out to our way of loving Joan Crawford. I gave them a little snarky jab the other day. I invited them. So I invited all the other pages and groups that we associate with. Then I say, you're also invited to our way of loving Joan Crawford. So shout out to them. Because I absolutely love Joan Crawford. I remember the first thing I saw about her, which was, of course, mommy dearest, which may be some people say unfortunate, but I love that movie. I don't care. I'm sorry what happened to Faye Dunaway. She got a lot of shade for that. But I don't care. I love that movie. And then I. So I knew about that first. Then I learned about and saw Joan Crawford later, but I just do not remember what was my first Betty movie. [00:01:17] And I almost want to say that I think I saw the Redgrave sisters version of whatever happened to baby Jane first, not knowing that Betty and Joan had, you know, done the original. And I'm saying maybe that's how. But I just. I'm not sure. Nevertheless, once I saw Miss Davis and all her glory, I was hooked. Even the movies later on in the sixties and seventies that weren't fantastic, you know, of course, she was older. I don't care. I love them. So YouTube has most of those movies, and I should have pulled it up, but I didn't. [00:01:57] I'm going to share my screen and just show one of the fan clubs that I'm a member of. [00:02:06] We're a member of, I should say. [00:02:09] Let's see, this one's on YouTube. [00:02:14] Is this it? I think this is it, yeah. And of course, they had tributes and such to her. I'm not gonna show any of the names or anything. Cause, I don't know, it's a private group and blah, blah, blah. But. [00:02:30] So they had this little tribute yesterday. Look at this old acquaintance. We did this one all about Eve. We just re released this. [00:02:42] We did the video to the audio. We had done earlier on our podcast. I don't know which one is this? Can someone tell me which one this is in the comments? Look at that dress. [00:02:52] Oh, my gosh. You couldn't do that nowadays. [00:02:56] And what? Oh, yeah, this is the one. A double life. [00:03:02] Yeah. Okay. I'm not gonna scroll any further. Cause, you know, I wanna. I don't know if these. You know, it's a private group, blah, blah, blah. But anyway, shout out to the Bette Davis fans club. It is open. You see, it's open to anyone who loves Bette Davis movies. Okay? So we appreciate them for that. [00:03:23] And so also, I'm looking for some other. [00:03:30] Let's see. Here we go. And this is one of the pictures we had. Happy birthday, girl. We love you. And there's Georgia. I gotta put my friend in there some kind of way. But, um, when you type in Bette Davis, this woman will never go away, nor should she. But when you type, obviously, you know, Google or whatever, you can find stuff about her. But when you type in stuff on YouTube. So I'm gonna share this screen with you. [00:04:04] There's so much stuff about Bette Davis, which is absolutely fantastic. [00:04:12] And I'm happy because. And, you know, they do have stuff about everybody, if you want to be honest, on YouTube. But to have. Look at these picture. Girl. Girl. Like, I'm talking somebody. But look at this. Can I make this bigger? Okay. Okay. You know, I do have a better picture of this, but look at all the. What a dump. [00:04:37] We'll get to that in a minute. So the first thing pops up. I didn't know that she was a Kennedy center honoree. And Angela Lansbury introduced her. And I see some other people. I think Sammy Davis Junior went in, and obviously it's the eighties, 87. [00:04:54] Cause I saw his wife in a thumbnail. [00:04:56] But look all the stuff that pops up. Look how fabulous this is after the. I believe, the stroke and everything. Look how fabulous she look with that. So, ladies, never give up being fab, right? Never even sickness. You gotta always try. And I know it's not easy, but we have to always try to look our best. Look. How so? Just she cute look. [00:05:19] And I cannot find the clip she was on. [00:05:24] What's his name? I caught him. Little elfin man. [00:05:26] Dick Kavits show like a thousand times, right? And she was looking. She said, you know, she was looking at herself. Some pictures of her, some films of her when she was younger, right? And, you know, she said she was so hard on herself because she wasn't a glamour puss. Like Joan and whoever her contemporaries were. And she was so hard on herself now, as an older lady, she saw some films of herself when she was younger, and she was like, I was never that young. And then she said, you know, I looked at myself on screen, that young and beautiful. She said, you doll, you. [00:06:03] It's only Betty could say it. So now I say that all the time, you doll, you about myself, or even if I don't look like that about anybody. I even call my husband a doll. So I love her. She has so many great one liners, and she. And we could see, look, I like this thumbnail, because you could see how she evolved over so many times. So this is the, you know, grunge had this about it. This is a year ago. [00:06:33] So this woman and what she did behind the scenes, fighting for good roles, fighting for her legacy, just really. And people had. I found out some people had preceded her with that, and then some people after came after her. But she really, because she has such star power, it got in people's minds. I can fight for myself. I don't have to go with this formulaic way of my career in Hollywood. Of course, a lot of people did. Cause it was easier. But there she is when her and gish in the wheels of August, and it's still Betty. Those eyes, that mouth. Even though she had. It's Betty. You can. She's unmistakable. So shout out to grunge for that. I just. And I didn't click on it. Cause I wanted to look at some other stuff. So we'll get into that in a minute. What a double. [00:07:21] Oh, my gosh. I wanted you to see this picture, though. Oh, it's gonna go away. [00:07:28] Oh, do I have this other picture of her? I had it in a bigger. Let me see. [00:07:37] Let me share this instead. Here we go. So this is Bette Davis fan club. So there's Betty Davis fans, plural. And there's Bette Davis fan club on Facebook. But anyway, look at this picture. And of course, it's probably been colorized. They didn't overdo it. It looks realistic. She is gorgeous. No one looks like her. [00:08:03] Susan Sarandon probably is the closest looking like her. And hence, she did the feud. And so just absolutely, absolutely gorgeous and just enamored with her talent. And every woman, I don't care who you are in your background, there's a part, she played your part, she played your life. And I can say that about Joan Crawford, too, just off the top of my head. [00:08:30] And there's only a few actresses I think I can say, in my opinion, have done that. And so. But, yeah, she looks absolutely, like, gorgeous there. And let me see if there's. [00:08:45] Look at the jewels. [00:08:47] Look at that. [00:08:49] Oh, my gosh. She was really so cute, and she had her own sexy way, and women, we have to have that. Stop trying to look like everybody else. I don't care what age you are. Find your look. And, yes, she did have Hollywood people to help her, but they were experts because they found her look like the Max factors and the family, and I can't think of their name right now of makeup artists. I think some of them probably still do makeup. They own. [00:09:21] Do they own smashbox or they own smashbox? I can't remember. But anyway. Oh, I should have wrote it down. I didn't know I was gonna talk about that. But still, they were masters at developing the person's look, and whoever did this this day, they killed it. And, like, yes, it is colorized, but whoever they drew out, I think the spirit, and I mean that, the glow of her and the lighting, so they did a really good job of imagining, because I don't think this probably was in color back then. It probably was in black and white, but I could be wrong. Let me know in the comments, and let's see what else we have for you. [00:10:10] I want to. [00:10:14] Let's do this. [00:10:17] And. Okay, so we know she's famous for, like, a kajillion one liners. And so, of course, I have one of my favorites queued up because people still say it nowadays. [00:10:32] Rightfully so. You know, you don't say it unless you really mean it. [00:10:37] And unfortunately, sometimes when you say it, you're like, oh, my gosh. [00:10:42] So let's roll with that. [00:10:53] Rosa, you got back. All right. [00:10:56] I got back. [00:10:59] How's your foot? [00:11:02] Fine. [00:11:08] What a dump. [00:11:14] Oh, so bubbling. I even started to notice some of the hair growing back at the end of the first bottle. This has literally changed my life. It comes in. [00:11:25] Good for you. Your hell. But what a dump. Like, everybody says it. I don't care. It's just. [00:11:33] And then it depends on what's going on, because then some people empathize, what a dump. You know? But you're gonna say it. What a dump. You know? And so kudos, but, you know, and playing that movie, Bette Davis actually hated that movie. She thought it was one of her worst performances because she felt she was too old, and she was right for Rosa in a petrified forest. And something else. Only Betty can say it. [00:11:59] She said, who in the h wants to leave Joseph Cotton, because in a movie, Rosa really just is so abusive to this man. And go see it, though. Is it delicious? It's one of those. Betty, daddy, you know, why was almost all her movies a great soap opera? And I think that's why. Another reason we love her so much that she. [00:12:23] That she was able to do that and give us that all the time. So just those delicious. And it wasn't always a woman's film, even though it was featuring women, but it was just a lot of it was human stories and such and. [00:12:42] But, you know, everybody could relate to it. Cause she was a man's woman, if you will. You know, her and Joan Crawford, they were men's women, meaning that, you know, men, they didn't intimidate men, especially Betty, when she played her roles. And then, you know, and I would say give it to her a little bit more. Cause with Joan Crawford, it must have been in her contract. They had to phone over how beautiful she was. I don't see it. But, you know, that's what it was. But I think Betty, and Betty loved all those women back then. They were wild, you know, go listen at some of those women was something else. Speaking of that, I want to share another channel before we get out of here. [00:13:20] A YouTube channel that I like now. I. [00:13:24] The way it's produced is, how can I say this? Maybe have a little technology added to it. But, you know, I like it. It's entertaining, and I take it with a grain of salt, and I'll just leave it like that. So, this is the age of vintage, and they have a whole bunch of stuff. So when you type in. This is one I just saw not too long ago. [00:13:58] I don't know. [00:14:02] It was. [00:14:04] Her daughter has made this allegation before that she was a witch and used black magic. I have never heard anyone else say that. And so when I saw this on here, I was kind of taken aback. I looked at it. I'm gonna have to look at it again, because I think I didn't take it seriously. But I'll see. [00:14:20] I did see this one. No, I saved this one. I haven't seen it. So this channel, and they talk about all kinds of stars. They have a lot of tea, if you will. Like I said, take it with a grain of salt. [00:14:33] And look, they have this one. Of course. We love this. [00:14:38] Now we know about this. Okay. And so some of it is old stuff, but, you know, some of it may be new to you. [00:14:48] All right, so age of vintage. [00:14:51] Age of vintage. Great YouTube channel. If you are, if you like stuff like our old stars. [00:14:59] Well, I think that's it for me. I think I've covered everything that I wanted to cover. [00:15:07] And I'm so glad you were able to join me today sans Miss Georgia. [00:15:16] And we will be back next week. Our next movie will be Elmer Gantry with the one and only. We haven't done.
